Louisa County Youth Hunt, Wapello, IA

Rich Runge and Jeff Henke representing NADKC and VDD-GNA, along with volunteers from the local area including Western IL NAVHDA, Louisa County Pheasants Forever, Louisa County Conservation and others, participated in the Lousia County Youth Hunt in Wapello, Iowa. Youth ages 12-15 who had taken a hunter safety learned about gun saftey, shot clay pigeons, and participated in a youth pheasant hunt.

There was a demo with puppies for the youth before they actually went hunting with trained Deutsch Kurzhaars and Deutsch Drathaars. "The little girl I took out was thrilled when she got her bird and jumped in the air!" Following the hunt, participants were shown how to clean a bird and cook a pheasant.
