WHELPED LITTERS

Zwinger  “von Kings Crossing” O Litter

Whelp Date: 4 April 2013 (5 males, 4 females)

KS Roxi Pöttmes, 0502/08
Solms 1 Jugend at 7.5 mos., BTR – Fox at 10 mos., Derby 1, VJP 80P (Track 12, Nose 12) 2009 World High Score, JEP Hunt Test, HZP 181P, 2009 IKP 1, VGP 1b 320P/FCI CACIT Res Champion, 2010 Kleemann Champion (Water 4H), 20-Hr Blood Track SW1, LN-scent loud, HN, HD-B1, Fw. 3x V, IKP (Top 10), KS (Top 10)

M: KS Nadja Pöttmes (KS Zatopec vom Hege-Haus)
V: Whisky von Neuarenberg (KS Rocky von Neuarenberg)

** Roxi Litter Update **: In Roxi’s first two litters she produced 8x dogs that received V-ratings, 6x dogs that received 4hs at their exams, 4x dogs that received the Ambruster Halt (AH) award, 4x dogs that passed the VGP with a Prize 1 and 8x dogs that received a HD-A hip certification.

This will be a 3-3 KS Rocky von Neuarenberg and 4-3 KS Zatopec vom Hege-Haus line breeding.

Zatopec was an exceptional male in Germany that had very limited number of breedings because his elderly owner fell ill, and the owners’ wife was very reluctant to breed the dog. Zatopec was only allowed to breed to the top breeders in Germany.

His legacy is producing large and powerful females (e.g., Nadja & Tessa) with exceptional drive and superior color. These dams in turn have produced puppies that became foundation dams in several well known kennels.

Both of Zatopec parents, Firn and Isadora vom Hege-Haus, were German (BS) and International (CACIB, ES, WS, etc) beauty champions. Unfortunately, Zatopec never had the opportunity to compete in the international conformation ring.

The goal of this breeding is to produce exceptional conformation in form and color. The additional Rocky line breeding will provide intelligent and easy to train puppies. Many Rocky puppies have passed their VGP in their Solms year.

This breeding will also contain the last of the Wittekind bloodline (Quent vom Wittekind: 4-5 / 3-- ).

Roxi continues the very powerful Pöttmes motherline established in 1903. Her mother (KS Nadja Pöttmes) and grandmother (KS Bruni Pöttmes) were exceptional hunting dogs that received the highest possible honors in the field and show ring.

Roxi’s desire, cooperation and performance is world class and unmatched. She continues and extends the 100 year tradition of excellence in her Pöttmes genes. Roxi and her mother/grandmother were LN-loud on Game, completed the HN-Hardness Test and passed the SW-Blood Tracking examination.

Roxi completed the Fall Solms breed test at 7.5 months old and she normally was half the age of all the other dogs at her examinations. Her natural ability and excellent pedigree overcame her youth and she consistently outshined the older and more experienced dogs.

This mother-line produced the top scoring females at the IKP 2005, KS 2006, IKP 2007, and KS 2008.

Darwin KS vom Hege-Hof 0540/08
(Baron vom Hege-Haus x Dolly KS vom Altenbruch)

D1, S1 (4h nose), S1, VGP1 (312 points/full points, 4h nose, 4h water search without a duck), KS (perfect score), BTR, VBR, HN, HD-A1, FW. V1 (5 x V1), 3 x CACIB, 2 x CAC, 3 x BOB (all by the age of 27 months of age).

In addition to his success in his education, Darwin has been unbelievably successful in Zuchtschau events. Lead by Birgitta Krause-Hofstetter (Mr. Hofstetter’s daughter) in less than two years Darwin achieved: Vielversprechend Jüngstenklasse, Stuttgart; Zuchtschau DK Südbaden sg.1.J; Ortenau-Jugend-Sieger V1, BOB, Anw. Dt. Jug. CH. VDH; Internationalen Rassehundeausstellung Offenberg V1, BOB, CACIB, Anw. DT.Ch. VDH, CAC, Rüde Gebrauchshundklasse (Titled Working Dogs); DK-Zuchtschau Südbaden V1; Zuchtschau Klub Kurzhaar Kurmainz V2; Spezial-Zuchtschau DK-Saar/Südbaden und Südwest V1, CAC (DK), Anw. VDH, BOB; DK Zuchtschau Rheinland V1; 2010 Kleemann Zuchtschau V3

At the Dr. Kleemann Prüfung, Darwin’s leader (trainer) was Mr. Siegfried Hofstetter, considered to be one of if not the best leader in Germany. Darwin performed admirably under most difficult conditions. The first day Darwin’s group was assigned field work with winds of 30 - 40 mph survival was the word of the day. Darwin’s search was purposeful and productive. Using his outstanding nose he was able to locate and point game under conditions no hunter would endure. The next day was the water work. Darwin crossed the pond upon command without hesitation and searched thoroughly without the duck. He made short work of his live duck search and retrieved flawlessly. For his efforts Darwin received his KS.

M: Tilla vom Wittekind (nach Quent vom Wittekind)
V: KS Rolf Birkenwald

Zunder is from the last litter representing the work and passion by the “vom Wittekind” kennel in Germany. The Wittekind dogs represent the old German hunting philosophy where a dog can boar hunt one day, duck hunt another, work birds and sleep by the sofa quietly. Udo only bred one litter a year for 26 years and there always was a waiting list of eager hunters.

Zunder completed all of his training in Germany as a very young dog in the “first field.” This means he completed all required training in several months and was recognized as the top dog at his examinations.
