2008 NADKC Annual Meeting

The 15th NADKC Annual Meeting was a great event and thank you to all of those who contributed to make it a success! The meeting was held in Spokane, WA, April 25-27th at Mukogawa Ft. Wright, with the host hotel being the Ramada Inn near the Airport.

Thursday evening sported a friendly, energy charged meet and greet at the Ramada Solarium & Lounge with Derby the following morning. Although the entries numbered only four, all dogs passed with Prize I’s receiving several compliments from the judges Margitta Albertsen, Hermann-Josef Schomakers, and Leonard Baker. After the Derby, lunch was graciously provided by Wayne and Lisa Davis of the Western Region while those that gathered engaged in conversation and fellowship. The afternoon sported a group to visit some local wineries downtown Spokane, for an afternoon of wine tasting. Evening dinner was enjoyed at the Longhorn BBQ while a JGHV Judges Seminar was conducted by guest speaker Margitta Albertsen.

Saturday morning was greeted with a full breakfast and morning JGHV Seminar by speaker Margitta Albertsen. Following was lunch and seminar by Kirk McConnor on newly approved Artifical Insemination procedures for the Deutsch Kurzhaar in North America, including procedure, fees and DNA certification provider specific to NADKC. Early afternoon was the Zuchtschau, of which seven dogs were judged, held under sunny skies and on the well manicured grounds of Ft Wright. Late afternoon was the General Membership meeting for important club matters and the evening was filled with fun as dinner and auction commenced with around 40 in attendance. Numerous items had been donated for the fundraising, and those in attendance enjoyed a few rounds, laughter and memories that many will remember for a long time to come.
